Bounce Protection & Standard Overdraft Practices
In addition to standard overdraft practices that come with your account, we also offer "Bounce Protection" to qualified account holders that will cover overdrafts up to the established limit. The general limit for eligible personal checking account types is $500; and $1,000 for eligible business account types. Additional approval requirements apply for customers under 21 years of age. Under both standard overdraft practices and Bounce Protection, a fee of up to $32 per item may be assessed for paying overdrafts that result in an overdrawn balance. Fees may be imposed for covering items created by check, in-person withdrawal, everyday debit card transactions, ATM withdrawals or other electronic means.
When your account is overdrawn, we reserve the right to require you to pay any overdraft immediately or upon demand. You should make every attempt to bring your account to a positive end-of-day balance as soon as possible, and must do so within 30 calendar days. In doing so, your Bounce Protection will be automatically reinstated. Whether your overdrafts will be paid is discretionary and we reserve the right not to pay. For example, we typically do not pay overdrafts if your account is not in good standing, or you are not making regular deposits, or you have too many overdrafts.
We also offer “Bounce Protection” plans such as a link to a savings account, which may be less expensive than our standard overdraft practices. To learn more, ask us about these plans.
